hallucination

A hallucination is seeing or hearing something that is not really there. Fever, exhaustion and certain drugs can cause one, and the person genuinely perceives the thing — that is what separates a hallucination from a lie or a guess. In AI it has become the standard word for a confidently invented answer: a chatbot cites a book that was never written, a court case that never happened, a quotation nobody said. It is not lying, because lying means knowing the truth and hiding it. The model is producing what an answer usually looks like, and a false one looks exactly like a true one. That is why you check names, dates and numbers. The verb is hallucinate.

En IA, c'est le mot courant pour une réponse inventée avec assurance : un livre jamais écrit. D'où la règle : vérifier noms, dates et chiffres.

Hallucination adalah melihat atau mendengar sesuatu yang sebenarnya tidak ada. Demam atau obat tertentu bisa memicunya, dan orang itu benar-benar merasakannya — itu bedanya dengan berbohong. Di AI, kata ini kini baku untuk jawaban yang dikarang dengan penuh percaya diri: buku yang tak pernah ditulis, kutipan yang tak pernah diucapkan. Karena itu nama, tanggal dan angka selalu diperiksa.

Hallucination は、実際にはないものが見えたり聞こえたりすることです。発熱や薬で起こり、本人には本当に見えている——そこが嘘との違いです。AI では今、自信たっぷりに作り出された答えを指す標準語になりました。書かれたことのない本、誰も言っていない引用。嘘ではありません。嘘には真実を知っていることが要るからです。だから名前・日付・数字は必ず確認します。動詞は hallucinate。
