hallucination
A hallucination is seeing or hearing something that is not really there — fever, exhaustion or drugs can cause one, and the person truly perceives it, which is what separates it from a lie. In AI it has become the word for a confidently invented answer: a book that was never written, a case that never happened. In the animation, a man asks a machine a question, and a fish with butterfly wings flies out of the answer.
