what it means
Entitled has two lives, and the useful part is seeing how one became the other. A title is a claim on something — a title deed says the house is yours — so to be entitled to a thing is simply to have a right to it. You are entitled to a refund. That use is neutral and correct. The second use is the one you hear at a table when someone will not stop complaining: he sounded entitled. Here nobody handed them a right; they awarded it to themselves. The tell is how they take a favour — not with thanks, but as though a debt had finally been paid.

Title, bir şey üzerindeki haktır: tapu evin sizin olduğunu söyler.
