wanderlust

Wanderlust came into English from German whole, both halves intact: wandern, to hike, and Lust, desire. English took it because it had no single word for the feeling, and the feeling is specific. It is not a plan and not a holiday. It is a pull, and it points at nowhere in particular — the wanting is for elsewhere itself. The drawing is exact about this. A man stands still in plain clothes, and his shadow has a pack, a hat, and is already walking off without him. That is what the word describes: the part of you that has left while the rest is still standing there.

Wanderlust pasó del alemán al inglés entera: wandern, caminar, y Lust, deseo. No es un plan ni unas vacaciones: es un tirón que no apunta a ningún sitio concreto. En el dibujo, un hombre está quieto y su sombra ya lleva mochila y se marcha sin él.

Wanderlust est passé de l'allemand à l'anglais tel quel : wandern, marcher, et Lust, le désir. Ce n'est ni un projet ni des vacances : c'est une traction qui ne vise aucun lieu précis. Sur le dessin, l'homme ne bouge pas et son ombre part déjà, sac au dos.

Wanderlust masuk ke bahasa Inggris utuh dari bahasa Jerman: wandern, berjalan jauh, dan Lust, hasrat. Bukan rencana, bukan liburan: ini tarikan yang tak menunjuk tempat tertentu. Di gambar, si pria diam sementara bayangannya sudah bertas dan melangkah pergi.

Wanderlust Almancadan İngilizceye olduğu gibi geçti: wandern, yürüyüşe çıkmak ve Lust, arzu. Bir plan ya da tatil değil: belirli bir yeri işaret etmeyen bir çekim. Resimde adam kıpırdamıyor, gölgesi ise sırt çantasıyla çoktan yürüyüp gidiyor.

wanderlust はドイツ語からそのまま英語に入りました。wandern（歩き回る）＋ Lust（欲求）。計画でも休暇でもなく、どこという当てのない引力です。絵では、男は立ち止まったままなのに、影のほうはリュックを背負ってもう歩き出しています。
