Definition
A 'metaphor' is a figure of speech that describes something by saying it's something else. It doesn't mean the thing is literally that something else but has qualities or characteristics like it. For instance, saying 'She is my rock', doesn't mean she's made of stone but that she provides dependable strength and support.
