Over the past three years as a UX designer at ComNet Agency, I had the opportunity to revamp the UX of a large media streaming website. The broadcast company noticed a significant decrease in user retention and asked us to provide a more immersive and user-friendly browsing experience.
I carried out user research, mapping out user personas and journeys, and identified key areas of user dissatisfaction using tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar for heatmaps, and Figma for prototyping. The redesign focused on decreasing the load time of video content, introducing personalized recommenders, and simplifying the overall navigation.
Post-implementation user testing and data showed a 25% increase in user session times and a 20% increase in new subscriptions, reiterating the significance of a well-designed UX catering to user needs and expectations. This project was an excellent example of how UX design can significantly influence business metrics and user satisfaction.
