Here's what almost everybody gets backwards about science: they think it's a dusty old dictionary of finished facts you're supposed to memorize. It's absolutely not! Think of it like a giant, magnificent jigsaw puzzle where we don't even have the picture on the box. Every time we figure something out, we snap a new piece into place, and since there are no edge pieces, the puzzle never, ever ends! But here is the really fun part—sometimes we realize a piece we confidently jammed in there years ago is actually in the wrong spot, and a new discovery forces us to rip it out and rethink the whole picture. If we're always finding new pieces and having to move the old ones around, how do you think we ever know if we're actually on the right track?
