Before IELTS examiners look for fancy vocabulary or complex grammar, they look for accuracy. A well-organized essay full of basic sentence-level errors will struggle to reach a Band 6. Fixing your foundation is the fastest way to boost your score.

Pro tip: You do not need perfect grammar for a Band 7.0, but you do need frequent error-free sentences. Eliminate the most common errors first.
