The eight mistakes that come up most often, and how to find and remove them from your own writing.
Preview · progress not saved — Chapter 1 is free
Eight sentences. No spelling mistakes, no missing words — and every one is wrong.
Each one, why it happens, and the single change that removes it.
All eight of those sentences are wrong, every one of them appears in thousands of Band 5 scripts, and each has a one-word fix.
Most people recognise three or four as something they might write. Very few tick none, and almost nobody ticks all eight.
That is the point of this sprint. It is not about learning all eight — it is about finding the three that are yours and removing them.
The eight errors, each crossed out with its fix beneath.

The crossed-out line is what you were about to write. The line beneath is the fix.
Sixteen phrases. Eight are fine. Sort them at speed.
