Half these verbs put the cause first and half put the effect first. Mix them up and your sentence says the opposite of what you meant.
Read this sentence:
Unemployment gives rise to automation.
The grammar is perfect. The spelling is perfect. The words are all correct. And it says something the writer did not mean — that unemployment causes automation, rather than the other way round.
This is the reversal error, and it survives proofreading precisely because nothing looks wrong. You read it back, the grammar checks out, you move on.

A three-step chain with six gaps. Keep the direction consistent all the way through.
Why are so many young people leaving rural areas?
The pattern is well documented, and the causes form a chain rather than a list.
The shortage of skilled workers in rural regions the steady migration of young people to cities — the workers are absent because the young have left.
That migration in turn the closure of local services, since a shrinking population cannot sustain a school or a clinic.
Service closures then further departures, because families with children have little reason to stay.
The 2008 financial crisis an especially sharp wave of departures, though the underlying trend was already decades old.
Economic opportunity the whole cycle: wherever wages are higher, movement follows.
Poor rural transport also the problem, although it is plainly not the only factor at work.
