In my current role as a UX designer at WebPro Solutions, I faced a significant challenge while working on the redesign of a major client's website. The existing site had poor user engagement rates, mainly due to a complex navigation system.
The first step to address this challenge was conducting extensive user testing to understand the problem areas better. The results pointed toward an overwhelming navigation structure and a disorganized information architecture as the primary pain-points. To tackle this, I used Information Architecture principles to restructure the site, aiming for a more intuitive and streamlined flow.
Furthermore, I employed card sorting and tree testing techniques to validate the new structure. Finally, I created interactive prototypes to simulate the new design, using tools such as Figma and Marvel.
The redesign was well received by the client and significantly improved their user engagement, with a 40% increase in page views and a 30% decrease in bounce rate. This project underscored for me the importance of a user-centered design approach and solidified my skills in transforming user insights into actionable design solutions.
