In my current role as a Content Strategist for DigitalHub Media, I've worked extensively on increasing viewer engagement for both our website and social media platforms. A standout project was when I led the strategy for a content series highlighting Stories Of Local Heroes during the lockdown.
To maximize engagement, we utilized a multi-platform approach. On the website, we focused on creating comprehensive long-form articles rich in detail and layered with personal narratives. We further boosted engagement on the site by implementing a 'comment and share for a chance to meet a local hero' campaign.
For social media, we created shorter, video-based content with compelling visual stories, leveraging platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We used targeted ads to reach our ideal demographics and tracked likes, shares, and comments using data analytics tools.
As a result of these strategies, we saw a significant spike in reader and viewer engagement. Webpage views increased by 35%, social media shares rose by 45%, and comments across platforms increased by 50%. This project reinforced the importance of a tailored, audience-centric approach to content creation and reinforced my belief in the power of storytelling.
