In my current role as the Assistant Manager at XYZ Retail, I've had the responsibility of leading and coordinating a team of 15 sales associates. My primary strategy in managing the team has been fostering a sense of ownership by involving everyone in decision-making processes and emphasizing the importance of each member's role towards achieving our common goals.
To create a balance between individual and team goals, I’ve implemented a system where team members periodically share their individual objectives and how these tie into our overall branch goals. This not only promotes transparency but also encourages mutual support among team members.
One challenge that stood out was when two team members developed a personal feud that affected their cooperation. Through patient listening and open dialogue, I was able to help them resolve their misunderstanding, restore their professional relationship, and refocus on their work, thereby ensuring the maintenance of team harmony and productivity.
