Explain muscular force and its requirement for physical contact.
To move a book on a desk, you have to touch it. In many situations, applying a force requires physical contact between your body and the object. These are called contact forces.
This contact can be direct (using your hands) or indirect (using a stick to hit a ball or a rope to pull a box).

If you roll a ball on flat ground, it eventually slows down and stops on its own. If you stop pedaling your bicycle, it gradually comes to a halt.
