Think of your digital document like a physical notebook pageβ€”it needs a size and margins to look consistent. You can set the Page Size (like A4), Margins (like 0.79 inches on all sides), and even a background color to make it your own!

Orientation defines how the page sits: choose Portrait for a vertically elongated page (like a standard letter) or Landscape for a horizontally elongated page (great for wide tables!).

When setting up a digital document, it is important to fix the page size, margins, and orientation for a consistent look. If you want your document to be vertically elongated, you should select theorientation. Conversely, if you prefer the document to be horizontally elongated, you must select theorientation. To prepare his report, Rishi selected a standardpage size from the settings. He also ensured the text was well-framed by setting ainch margin on all four sides of the page. Finally, to make his document visually appealing, he changed the background color to yellow ochre.

Saving Your Work

How to save, Save As, and shortcuts.

While creating a document, you must save it at regular intervals so your changes are permanently stored. If you don't save, you lose your progress when the application closes!

Save vs. Save As

  • Save As: Choose this option when you are saving the file for the first time, or when you want to give a different name to an already saved file.
  • Save: Choose this option when you want to simply save the changes made in an already existing file.

  • Shortcut: Ctrl + S
  • Result: Overwrites current file with your new changes

SAVE AS

  • When to use: First time saving, or to change the file name/location
