TRUE Explained Simply

TRUE = The Passage Says This (In Different Words)

IELTS never copies the exact words from the passage into the statement. They change the words but keep the meaning.

Your job: Recognize when two sentences mean the same thing.

Example:

Passage says: "The company hired 500 new employees last year."

Statement says: "The business recruited 500 staff in the previous year."

These mean the same thing:

  • company = business
  • hired = recruited
  • employees = staff
  • last year = previous year

Same meaning = TRUE
