How to read a 5-digit numeral aloud: thousands first, then the rest.
To read big numbers easily, you can build a simple reading habit in just two steps.
A zero in the middle is not read out, but it must not be dropped either.
When a numeral has a zero inside it, a simple rule applies: a place holding a 0 is not said aloud, but it still holds its critical place when we write the numeral.

Let's practice writing the exact number names for 5-digit numerals. When reading the numeral 25002, we follow the naming rules and write it out as . Remember that a zero inside a number is silent, so 51008 is correctly written as . Some numbers end with multiple zeros making them simple to read; for example, 11000 is written as . Finally, we look at the digits in 43021, say the thousands first, and write it as . Always check that you do not mistakenly write 'hundred' when a place has a zero.
