When every group holds the same amount, multiply instead of adding.
When a word problem mentions that every packet, every can, every almirah, or every month holds the exact same amount, and it asks you to find the total for the whole, you are looking at a multiplication problem! You simply multiply the size of one group by the total number of groups.
Example 1 from page 38, laid out as the book lays it out.
In a library, there are books in each almirah. There are almirahs in the library. Find the total number of books in the library.
