As a part of my job in Media Relations at XYZ agency, I was responsible for managing the production of our weekly industry podcast. The journey starts with planning and research, where we decide on the topic, discover the right guests and frame a sequence of the conversation. Despite meticulous planning, we have sometimes found that the discussion can still veer off-topic during recording, which required guiding guests back on track diplomatically.
The next step is the technical production, where we use a high-quality microphone for recording and Adobe Audition for editing. We take care to make the transitions natural, and tweak sound levels to ensure a smooth listener experience. Music selection also plays a significant role here.
We promote the podcast through various channels including our website, social media, and email newsletters, a step which can't be underestimated. One of the challenges was getting our podcast to our target demographic, but we overcame it by constantly refining our promotional efforts and using feedback to better engage with our audience.
Over time, through trial and error, I learned to anticipate and manage the challenges that come up during the podcast production process, which has led to tangible improvements in the quality and reach of our podcast.
