In my current role as a Tech Lead, I've had the opportunity to participate in strategic planning and decisions around technology adoption and implementation.
One key decision I can recall involved the migration of our local infrastructure to a cloud solution. We had reached a point where our growing user base demanded a more robust, scalable system, which was not possible with our existing infrastructure. I performed a thorough cost-benefit analysis of the transition and took into account the security and data privacy implications of moving to the cloud.
We decided to transition to Amazon Web Services (AWS), taking advantage of their scalable resources, diverse tool offerings, and industry-leading security measures. The implementation increased the availability and reliability of our services and provided us with more flexible cost control. This strategic move bolstered our system's stability, enabling us to accommodate more users without sacrificing performance, and ensuring our solution remained competitive in the market.
