Working as a Graduate Engineer at AeroTech Systems, I've had many opportunities to utilize different simulation and modeling tools practically. One critical aspect of my job is to conduct structural analysis of components under various conditions - this mostly involves using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods with software like ANSYS.
During a project on the structural assessment of an aircraft wing, I designed a comprehensive 3D model using CATIA, and then deployed ANSYS for stress testing under different loads. The simulation results helped us identify and redesign critical stress points, eventually enhancing the aircraft's durability and safety. The use of such advanced simulation tools in this situation was crucial.
