quixotic

Quixotic describes a plan or a person that is noble and hopeful but not realistic. It comes from the novel Don Quixote, about a man who read so many tales of knights that he went out to be one and attacked windmills he thought were giants. Calling something quixotic is not calling it stupid: the aim is good, the plan won't work. In the animation, a man rides an office chair into battle with a mop for a lance.
