Pandemonium is wild noise and chaos where nobody is in control any more. The poet John Milton invented it in 1667 as the name of the capital of hell: Greek pan, all, and daimon, demon — all the demons in one place. It is stronger than noise or mess: save it for when order has really broken down. In the animation, a chair flies past and a man finds himself sitting in a trunk.
