kinsman

A kinsman is a man of your blood: a relative, but the old word, carrying the whole family line rather than the household. Kin is what you were born into, including cousins you have never met and the surname on a gravestone. It is not who you live with or who you chose, but what is carried down whether anyone likes it or not. In the animation, a man shakes hands with a knight six hundred years older and grows the same moustache.
