halcyon

Halcyon describes a time that was calm, happy and bright — and you are almost always looking back at it: the halcyon days of childhood. The Greeks believed the sea went still for the days the kingfisher, the halkyon, sat on its nest. Nobody says these are halcyon days about this morning. In the animation, a man drifts in a hammock: the kind of afternoon he will call halcyon in ten years.
