flamboyant
Flamboyant comes from the French flamboyer, to flame, and was first used for Gothic windows cut into the shapes of fire. Keep the flame and you have the word: something flamboyant is shaped to be seen from across the room. It does not mean tasteless or false. It means the choice was made for an audience, which can be a delight and is never an accident. In the animation, a man in an orange feather coat the size of a sofa enjoys himself completely.
