exquisite

Exquisite is beauty at a fineness almost nothing reaches. The Latin exquisitus means sought out: the kind of fine you find by looking closely, not the kind that shouts across a room. It is more than pretty, and it isn't the same as expensive: a sandwich can be exquisite if every layer is right. It can turn sharp too: exquisite pain. In the animation, a woman holds still as a butterfly with lace-like wings lands on her finger.
