An expanse is a vast, continuous stretch of open space, sea, or sky unbroken by any visible fence or obstacle. From Latin expandere, to spread wide. It evokes the feeling of horizons continuing without end. In the animation, endless blue ocean and rolling plains meet the curve of the planet under an open morning sky.
