ennui

Ennui (say on-WEE) is a tired boredom where nothing seems worth doing, even when you could do almost anything. It is not sadness, and it is not being sleepy. A child waiting for a bus is bored; ennui is a free weekend, money in your pocket, every film ever made — and wanting none of it. English borrowed it from French. In the animation, the man is so flat his head has slid off onto the carpet.
