convivial

Convivial describes a warmth that only exists between people. Inside it is the Latin convivium, a feast: con, together, and vivere, to live. It has never quite left the table where it started. A convivial evening is not the same as a fun one: a film can be fun on your own, but convivial needs other people, and it describes the air between them. In the animation, a man has four arms and four mugs, because everybody has a drink.
