brouhaha

A brouhaha is the noise a crowd makes — say the word aloud and you can hear the babble in it. It is never the event itself, but the fuss around the event, and the fuss is always the bigger of the two: a brouhaha over a player's haircut means everybody shouted, about a haircut. In the animation, nine men shout at once, hats and arms in the air — about a spoon.
