In my role as a Junior Consultant for a IT Consulting Company in México, I've faced situations where client queries went beyond my immediate knowledge. However, I learned that it’s crucial to maintain transparency and provide accurate information.
Once, during a presentation about a complex cyber security project, a client asked about a new encryption algorithm which I was unfamiliar with. Instead of giving an indistinct answer, I admitted my unfamiliarity but assured them I would research it and get back promptly. I immediately coordinated with our cybersecurity experts to understand the specifics. After acquiring a sound understanding, I updated the client through a detailed email and conducted an additional virtual meeting to discuss the algorithm.
This incident taught me the importance of continuous learning and affirming a culture of clear, responsive communication in the professional space.
