In my last position as a Learning and Development Associate, I introduced the methodology of Microlearning into our employee training programs. Microlearning presents lessons in digestible, bite-sized chunks, providing a method that is well-suited for today’s busy professionals and simple digital delivery.
I subdivided our comprehensive training material into shorter modules, each focused on a single concept. This was followed by small quizzes to validate knowledge retention. The various modules were incorporated into our Learning Management System, allowing employees to consume training at their own pace, wherever and whenever suitable.
The implementation of this methodology significantly improved employees’ participation rates and completion rates for our online courses. The feedback we received affirmed that employees found this methodology to be both convenient and effective for incremental learning.
