Sample Response: Associate

As an Associate Reporter for Panorama News, I've had the opportunity to work on numerous investigative pieces. The most impactful, perhaps, was a detailed expose on illegal mining operations in northern Argentina.

The investigation started with tip-offs and anonymous sources, ensuing rigorous background research, consulting local land records, satellite imagery, and mining permit databases. Uncovering the discrepancies, we then conducted undercover field visits using concealed cameras to capture evidence and carried interviews of local residents, environmental experts and government officials.

Using data visualization tools, we created a comprehensive dossier of our findings, revealing the extent of the ecological damage caused. The report shook the local administration, leading to an immediate crackdown on the illegal mines and an overhaul of mining regulations.

This experience underscored the critical role of investigative journalism in combatting corruption and inspiring policy changes.
