As a Control Systems Engineer at AutomateNow, I was involved in an important project to improve the control system of automated welding systems. The initial system in place had issues with precision and speed primarily.
Given the challenges, I proposed re-designing the control system using a Robust Control Design methodology. For this, we used Python programming and the control systems library to model our system and design the controller.
Upon implementation, the new control system showed excellent results. We noticed a significant reduction in welding imperfections, and the whole process was faster by almost 20%. The improvements directly contributed to increased productivity and quality for our manufacturing clients.
