In my role as an Associate Chemical Engineer at PetroX Corp., I play an integral part in ensuring all the processes comply with industry safety and environmental regulations. A prominent example was when we worked on upgrading our petrochemical plant to alleviate potential safety hazards and environmental impact.
We meticulously conducted a HAZOP Study to identify potential operational risks. Then, we redesigned and improved the plant's system by incorporating intrinsically safe design principles and implementing more efficient emission control systems. Strict environmental considerations were applied, including installing wastewater treatment systems and scrubbers to minimize our environmental footprint.
After implementing these changes, we saw a significant reduction in plant downtime due to safety shutdowns, and we successfully adhered to the country's stringent environmental regulations, indicating a strong alignment with our company's commitment towards safety and environment stewardiness.
