In my current role as a Cloud Support Associate at TechSoft Corp, I routinely manage cloud resources for our clients, with a focus on Microsoft Azure services. One particular project involved setting up a robust backup and recovery model for a leading e-commerce client subjected to massive amounts of data churn on a daily basis.
We started by setting up an Azure Recovery Services Vault for managing all backup and disaster recovery activities. After connecting their datacenters to Azure, we scheduled automatic backups using Azure Backup service, ensuring all new and updated data was routinely backed up. For recovery, we leveraged Azure Site Recovery to orchestrate and manage disaster recovery for Azure VMs.
In terms of outcome, following the implementation of this solution, we managed to accomplish reliable security against data loss, meeting our set service-level agreement (SLA) for Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO). This provided our client with the confidence that their data is safe and easily recoverable, a critical aspect given the nature of their business.
